Both native Californians, Heather Gillette and Chris Carstens are the proud new owners of the farm and are excited about spending the next chapter of their lives in beautiful Hyde Park and the Hudson Valley!

Heather and Chris, grew up in Northern CA and Southern CA respectively, and always thought Woodside, CA (where they’ve spent the last 17 years) would be their forever home.  But in the last few years, the raging wildfires, getting worse each year, were becoming too real of a threat to their animal family.

Heather was a founding member of YouTube and comes from the world of Tech in Silicon Valley, an entrepreneur and current Founder and CEO of DesignerInc.com – the first comprehensive online marketplace for the wholesale furniture industry.

Truth be told, everything I work so hard for, is ultimately so I can be successful enough to be able to help animals in need on a global scale with a far reaching and long lasting impact.

Chris, Heather’s husband, is an inventor, mechanical engineer, chemist, entrepreneur and current Founder and CTO of Carbo Culture, a company on a mission to remove a gigaton of CO_2e by 2030.

Heather and Chris made a conscious decision not to have kids and dedicate their lives to their fur family.

Everything has been about our animals.  And now more than ever with this new adventure in NY, we hope to be able to live happily ever after with our fur family in the safety and serenity of the beautiful Carlette Farm and we can’t wait to get to know everyone in this great community!

Heather and Chris are excited to now call NY home, together with their 4 horses, 3 mini donkeys, emus, 12 cats, 2 dogs, and an unknown number of chickens. They are also excited to carry on the traditions established at Locust Hill Farm, now Carlette Farm, by Jeff and Susan Lynn.
